S...Daphne loved it too when we lived in New Mexico. She was a "team captain" at 5 and was pretty good at it. She inherited Nick's lean legs and was fast! When we moved to NC, she started playing in a more competitive league which was frustrating because some of the parents really ruin it for their kids and the sport. Some parents are so out of control and do not understand what sportsmanship looks like and that is a game. With freaking 6 years olds. Come on. I think seasons change with kids, and Daphne recognized on her own how stupid people are sometimes. She started martial arts at 7 and found she can achieve so much in a sport, but what is most important is her character. Martial arts has taught her more about character and confidence than I ever imagined it would and is now a black belt. It is just as demanding, if not more demanding, of time than soccer was because she attend practice at least 4 times a week (but the times are reasonable and do not infringe on family time on Saturdays) plus tournaments. She is now a 1st degree level 3 black belt and a junior instructor. It's pretty cool to watch her. Her main instructor has been an amazing model of what being a man is, and he has become more of a second father to her than anything else. He tends to help her a lot with getting through deployments and stuff like that and really comes in and pays attention to what is going on with her life and not just whether she can do a side kick correctly. But, yeah, equally exhausting and have put more miles on my minivan over the last 4 years than I can believe sometimes driving back and forth to practices. As long as you have an athlete or two (like us) in the family, it will be exhausting. That's just part of the deal.Daxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10248795238466518284noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5645105390063604360.post-77837464363023842282016-09-23T07:02:44.863-04:002016-09-23T07:02:44.863-04:00Kendall LOVES soccer though! So as long as she loves it I'll love it too. It's just exhausting some days ;-)Shannon Dewhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06532112640843820431noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5645105390063604360.post-50722277160952304502016-09-23T07:01:32.226-04:002016-09-23T07:01:32.226-04:00Isn't she hilarious?! She enjoyed playing until we moved to NC and the 6 year old soccer team would begin practice at 7:00 pm three nights a week and monopolize our entire Saturday. Ridiculous. It was torture on me with Dax being a toddler. Thankfully, we moved on from that and so glad she decided to find something else she enjoyed without all the pressure and nonsense at such a young age.Daxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10248795238466518284noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5645105390063604360.post-60724641761229406262016-09-22T13:29:04.420-04:002016-09-22T13:29:04.420-04:00Last year I had a bad PSL and I haven't no des...Last year I had a bad PSL and I haven't no desire to try it again... It tasted burnt or something. Give me anything caramel. I hated it when Carter played soccer that one year. They would practice 2 nights a week THEN have double header games at noon and 2 on Saturday and Sunday... When was I going to get my errands done. Needless to say he only played that one year. I have my Christmas list made out, as in what I am buying everyone and I am asking for bike tires for my birthday. Finally, I am obsessed with CJ, period. Well, not like stalker obsessed but she rocks!Christihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10999106737073433978noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5645105390063604360.post-6977574645155590872016-09-22T08:35:03.048-04:002016-09-22T08:35:03.048-04:00So obsessed with This is Us.
