What’s your signature scent? Or do you have one?
I have never been one to religiously apply perfume; I probably have a million half empty bottles of perfume in my linen closet. I seem to have a common theme at least; I love girly, florally, sweet scents, completely opposite my mother who loves super earthy smells, think Aveda.
I made a trip to Sephora this weekend and was instantly drawn to the new Flirty Girl display by Philosophy. Cute packaging? Check! Pink? Check! Matching lip gloss? Check! I instantly grabbed it and rubbed the lotion on my hand, smelled like strawberries and made me think of summer, I LOVE summer. I was so tempted to buy it when I saw old faithful right there on the shelf next to it, Amazing Grace.
I can’t remember what or who exactly turned me onto this amazing scent but THANK YOU! For about 4 or more years now Amazing Grace has been my signature scent. So much so that when we were on our honeymoon my mom said she was at the mall and smelled a girl wearing it and instantly missed me, awe. We went out with some of Mr. Husband’s friends this past weekend and one of them came up to me and said “DDAAMMNN GIRL! You smell GOOD!” and continued to randomly sniff me the rest of the night.
I have tried a few different fragrances over the years, Jessica Simpson’s Fancy, Mademoiselle Coco Chanel, Missoni, Burberry Brit, Lovely by SJP, but none can compare. The clean, fresh, girly, floral, powdery, scent is unbeatable and the lotion has JUST the right amount of shimmer. This is one item I will not be looking for the perfect drug store version of.

ReplyDeleteFor the past 2 years I've worn Slice of Heaven by VS. They stopped making it this year so I have no idea what I'm going to start wearing once I run out.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a signature scent, I usually wear a vanilla scent in the winter and a fruit scent in the summer.

ReplyDeleteI use Amazing Grace shower gel, loves it!! For perfume I use Mademoiselle Coco Chanel, or Juicy. I need to try the Amazing Grace perfume.
ReplyDeleteI'm a perfume whore. I collect the stuff like crazy, mostly because my sense of smell is so strong and comforting. But, I've always worn Estee Lauder's Pleasures... since I was 16! It's the one scent my boyfriend loves (he gets annoyed when I wear anything else and tells me I "stink"), and the constant in my perfume "wardrobe."
ReplyDeleteI used to wear perfume every day when I was working in the office, but now that I'm home almost all the time, I've stepped down to body splash. Right now I'm in love with Bath & Body Works' new scent: P.S. I Love You. I layer the body wash, lotion and spray, and it is heavenly.
I too dig the floral scent notes. Other than Pleasures, my absolute fav is Lili Bermuda's Passion Flower. You can only get it in St. George, Bermuda, or from the Web site, so it's pretty unique, and I love that.
