Lash On With Yo Badself

OK I just HAD to share this with you and NO it couldn't wait.
So I have been on the hunt for the perfect mascara since 2009, you can even read about it here.  I've pretty much tried every kind there is out there, joking {kind of}.  So when I started selling Avon I was bound to try every one they had till I found one that was PERFECT!  Why not?  I get to test out product so I can report back to customers and I get it at a GREAT price.
Well the first one I tried I didn't really care for.  It seemed like I had to use a lot to achieve the look I was going for and even then I wasn't pleased with the results.  I sucked it up and used the rest of the tube but {thankfully} I ran out last week.  YAY I get to try another product!!!  This time I went for the ExtraLasting Mascara.  The description said it would give flutter lashes, sounds good.  And the price?  $4.99 so it was cheaper than any drug store mascara out there!  Sold!
Ladies I was NOT disappointed this time!  No sir!  I was pleased beyond words.  In fact I should just let the pictures do the talking.

Pretty good, right?  I haven't even been using it for a week and I've already been asked if I'm wearing extensions or if I've been using Latisse or if I am naturally blessed.  As you can see from the photos, I am not naturally blessed, this mascara is just THAT good.
So ok, what are you waiting for!?  Go getcha some!  Oh and if you do, holler because I'll hook it up with free shipping too.  You're welcome.

Let's Talk Makeup

Thanks to L'Oreal for sponsoring my post about my favorite beauty looks, tips and tricks! Check out Makeup.com for beauty advice from the experts.
When I did my Q&A post I got a couple questions asking about my daily makeup routine and it took me a while but I've finally got pictures and products to show you.
As you are aware, or maybe not, I sell Avon. The funny thing is, I had have even tried Avon before I started selling it.  That doesn't make for a very good saleswoman, now does it? Now I have yet to make any money from this little venture because I have been so busy buying up one of everything but I'm so glad I have.  My new makeup is great and, best of all, it lasts!
I start the day with the Get a Tint moisturizer {if you haven't tried tinted moisturizer you are missing out BIG time}, Please Hold primer {for the eyes}, and Primed for Perfection {for the face}.  Primer is key to making your makeup last!
And here we are all moisturized and primed {thank God for makeup, right?}
For my face I use Ideal Shade concealer stick {under the eyes and on blemishes}, Ideal Shade loose powder {foundation}, Smooth Minerals blucsh, and I polish it all off with Smooth Minerals Radiant Veil in rose.
And we're making progress
Now for the eyes.  This is my every day eye look, sometimes I do a little darker for evening but it pretty much  is this with a little more eyeliner.
I use the Mark eyeshadow in Sugar Sugar on my brow bone, Fairy Dust on my lid, and Corset in the crease. I use {and am IN LOVE with} the Glimmersticks liqui-glide eyeliner in black.  It's a pencil but goes on like a liquid!  It's the best and I will never use another liner, EVER.  This stuff is still on when I wake up in the morning.  Mascara is Supershock in black.  Another liner I've come to like is The Body Shop.  It's not the greatest but when I wear brown liner theirs is the only shade of brown that looks right on me.  I also use my shu uemura eye lash curler when I'm feeling fancy.
And the finished product is

So there you have it!  A nice, easy, natural, every-day look brought to you by me, Avon and L'Oreal!  Speaking of L'Oreal, before I was 100% Avon Maybelline was my go to.  I have I don't know how many of their eye shadow trios dating WAY back to high school {some of them}.
Do you have any favorite products?  Do you have the same boring routine every day or do you mix it up from day to day?

Best Drug Store Body Wash

Been a LONG time since I've posted a good drug store find but this one is a slam dunk! Now that we've moved the well water makes my Philosophy Amazing Grace smell...weird. Either that or the pregnancy hormones have caused me to no longer lust over this stuff. So off to the drug store I waddle.
I literally think I smelled EVERY body wash in the isle. Some were too fruity, others to musky {remember I DESPISE musk }, but Simply Ivory is the most clean, fresh, lovely smell. It even smells good with my well water! It lathers SUPER soapy so a little goes a long way and {best of all} it was less than $2!!! SHUT UP!
With this kind of penny-pinching I think I'm one step closer to becoming a SAHM!

Best Drug Store Sunless Tanning Lotion

Some of you may remember this post where I was searching for the perfect sunless tanner. Well boys and girls, I think I found it. As I said in that post, I have tried Jergens Natural Glow and Dove in the past and while I liked both at first, neither left me committed. I asked for your input and majority ruled, it was my turn to try the L’Oreal Sublime Bronze.

It’s pretty cheap, I think it was $9.99, and easy to find. I tried it out and upon first application noticed a difference. WOW! I like that it’s bronze in color too because you can SEE where you are applying it. It doesn’t smell too terrible either, not like Jergens Natural Glow. I haven’t noticed it coming off on any of my clothes and/or sheets either, BIG plus! It’s got a nice shimmer to it, but not like stripper glitter shimmer, just a nice subtle hint. Oh and it’s not orangey looking AT ALL.
I have been applying that at night a couple times a week and applying the L’Oreal Sublime Glow in the mornings, almost daily. It doesn’t have a bad smell either and it’s got a little shimmer too. It’s a moisturizer so you just apply it like lotion and kill two birds with one stone. SOLD!

I have had {I believe} 4 people in the last week comment on my “tan” and how it looks so nice and natural. One even thought I was going to a tanning bed, NO WAY JOSE! Thanks to everyone who recommended it and to those still longing for that PERFECT summer glow {in April} this is a MUST!

Perfect Drug Store Anti Frizz Serum

I don’t have frizzy hair by any means {my hair is poker straight, fine, limp, and a total grease ball if I don’t was it every SINGLE morning}, but I do have fly-aways, split ends, and breakage {thanks bleach!}. I was on the hunt for a smoothing serum, something to make my ends look better and smoother. Thanks to Courtney I learned about L’Oreal EverPure Sulfate- Free Smooth Frizz-Free Serum {LEPSFSF}. I thought I bought the right thing when I got the L’Oreal Vive Pro Glossy Style Smooth Gloss Serum {long names much? Come on, L’Oreal!}, and while I liked this product it was no LEPSFSF! First of all it’s got an amazing Rosemary Mint scent, not much unlike the Aveda Rosemary Mint products, it’s a very earthy smell, love it. And it’s a one pump chump! I only need one pump of it {granted my hair is shorter now} and it goes a LONG way! I’ve used it for about 3 weeks now and I can tell a big difference in how smooth and soft my hair looks and feels!

This stuff gets an A++

Calling All Fakers!

OK girls, I need your help! It’s FINALLY warm here and I’m ready to bust out the spring dresses and crop pants! HOWEVER my pastey white legs are nowhere near ready for shorter hemlines. Now I can’t go tanning {not that I would} and spray tan isn’t an option either so I need to know your FAVORITE sunless tanning lotions! I have tried Jergen’s Natural Glow and while I was a fan at first, the smell gets to me now. I have 3 bottles of it that will probably NEVER get used. I’ve also done the Dove {whatever it’s called} too and I didn’t care for it either. You know me; I’m CHEAP, so something drugstore accessible would be preferable. Thanks in advance ladies!

P.S. I don’t want to look like this girl, so no orangey ones!

Perfect Drug Store Shampoo/Conditioner

Normally I'm an Aveda girl. Love the way their products smell and love that it's all natural. Now I won't stray from their volumizer, but their shampoo and conditioner can get a little pricey. Off to the drug store I go, surely there's got to be an equivalent for under $10! I stumble across L'Oreal EverPure Sulfate-Free Color Care System- Volumizing shampoo & conditioner. The smell was VERY similar to that of Aveda so I thought, "this could be it!" The very first time I used it my hair was so silky and soft and completely manageable, but I wasn't sold just yet- every time you switch your hair feels great the first time. So I used the entire bottle and I'm still IN LOVE! Unfortunately I still thought there was going to be something better out there and thought I'd give the Aveeno Nourish a try...bad move!
First of all, it did smell amazing-that's about it. A couple of times I washed my hair and it still looked dirty-
NO GRACIAS! The shampoo BARELY got sudsy and I had to use a TON of it. I wasn't going to give up that quickly so I finished off the entire bottle and it didn't get any better. Sorry Aveeno, I love your moisturizer but your shampoo gets two thumbs down! I'll be buying the L'Oreal again!

Perfect Drug Store Mascara?

Do you see the wand on this bad boy? OMG! Well my mom swore this was a miracle mascara so I had to try it myself. Well let me tell you, BIG FAT FAIL!
First the little ball tip was VERY tricky to use, I swear I thought I was going to poke my eye out with the thing, it's very flexible. Once I figured out how to use this contraption I started with my top lashes and MAN was it THICK! OMG it was literally like tar. Once on the lashes it was a MESS, I had to wipe them off with a tissue! Tarantula lashes anyone? I WISH I had taken a pic for evidence but I didn't but trust me, it was awful! I didn't even attempt it on my bottom lashes because I can only imagine what a mess that would have made!
For now I'm back to my old school MAybelline Great Lash, which I don't LOVE either. On with the search!

My Quest for the PERFECT Drug Store Makeup

Ok so this recessions got me nipping my beauty budget in the bud! I LOVE LOVE LOVE expensive makeup and don't dare tell me you can't tell the difference, you totally can! I have decided to use this as an opportunity to do my own little drug store vs. department store search. You see it in Glamour and Allure every year but why take their word for it? I'll be the judge! I'll be testing foundation, blush, lip gloss, mascara, eye shadow, moisturizer, etc. Oh and I guess for comparison purposes I should add that I have combination skin and while I don't have acne I do get the occasional pimple here and there.
Up first, Almay Nearly Naked Liquid Makeup

Upon first use I hated this, mainly because I have been using mineral makeup since it came out so this was QUITE different. I decided to stick it out, "get used to it" if you will. Well I used the whole bottle (which went FAST I might add) and I'm still not sold. It definitely didn't feel "naked". I could always tell I had something on my face and the coverage, eh not so much. I felt like it made my face very oily too, even in the dry winter air, something NO woman wants! So sorry Almay, I'm usually a fan, but this gets two thumbs DOWN!
On to the next...Cover Girl Clean Makeup Oil Control Foundation. Stay Tuned!
