Clean Sweep

When Oreck emailed me and asked if I'd be interested in reviewing their new product I said, "HELLS YEAH!" before even reading further.  I mean this means I've hit it big time, right?  Upon further reading I saw I was getting the Grab It and Steam it steam mop.  You know why this item is perfect for me?  Because 1. I am a clean freak and 2. my house is mostly wood floors and tile.  Bada Bing!

So, just so you know, this one little gadget has replaced all three of these bad boys...
Girls this thing sucks like a vacuum, sweeps like a broom/swiffer, and steam mops like a Shark.  I mean, incredible, right?
You can chose to vacuum only, steam only, or both at the same time!  And doing any or all is SUPER easy.
If you want to use the steam function you simply fill the canister, reattach and push the steam button!  There's a trigger on the handle that you push to get the deep steam action going and it's almost instant, unlike my Shark that takes about 30 seconds to get going.
If you are a mom you know how important a steam cleaner is for safety.  I have never used any sort of chemical on our floors due to the fact that Kendall crawls, drops food, lays, and plays on them.  This bad boy heats up and steams with almost no effort by the user.  A mother's dream.
And vacuuming?  It's as easy as 1,2,3!  You just plug in, turn on and GO!  And moms, LISTEN UP!  This is the quietest vacuum you will ever own, swear!  I was able to run this while Kendall was napping and didn't even think twice about it!  Me!  The girl who whispers and tip toes and puts a "Do Not Knock" sign on the door during nap time!  Yes, it's THAT quiet.
The vacuum sweeps everything, from the tiniest piece of dirt to dog hair to toys {oops}.  But the great thing is that it sweeps it all into a little removable tray that you just pop out and dump!  So if you did sweep something on accident {like a puzzle piece} you can retrieve it before it's a done deal.
The broom is even thin enough to fit under cabinets so you don't have to miss a spot or break out another appliance to get up close and personal.
I also love that it's light enough to carry up and down the stairs without a struggle, unlike our vacuum. The head swivels which means it gets into nearly every crevice.  The cord is super long too.  We live in a ranch and I was able to clean the kitchen, dining area, living room, and hallway without unplugging and moving outlets.  Easy peasy.
So how bad do you want one now?  Well Merry Christmas!  Today you get the chance to win one of your very own!  I feel like Oprah!  YOU get a vacuum, YOU get a vacuum, YOU get a vacuum, except in reality only one of you will get one.
So here's what you do:
  1. Visit Oreck.com and tell us one thing you learned about the Grab-It & Steam-It.
  2. Must be a follower of Life After I "Dew"
  3. Tweet about this giveaway and mention @shannonrdew and @oreck
And since it's the Christmas season we'll leave it at that.  Leave a comment for each thing you do.
Good luck!

  1. Hi! - new follower and lurker. I must say, out of everything the website had to teach me about this vacuum that I really need to own, I specifically focused in on this part of the disclaimer: "Not for use on exterior paint of automobiles".

While I could definitely use this on my original, but old as f#@%, oak hardwood floors and tile (seriously, there is no carpet in my entire home except the stairs), I cannot imagine what people may have done to have them throw in the credits that, oh yeah, you shouldn't try to steam the exterior of your vehicle.
