Tummy Tuesdays- Week 13

Headaches, leg cramps, and heart flutters OH MY!

Wow what can I say, the first trimester has come to an end. Can you believe it? I know I can't I do know I am excited about all the good things I hear about the second trimester though, more energy? Yes please!

This week has been full of all sorts of uncomfortables. I have been getting this weird feeling in my left leg a lot. Almost like it's asleep but a little more uncomfortable. It's not that it hurts, it's just really annoying. I find it happens most when I'm sitting for any length of time, mostly at work. So I've been trying to get up every so often and walking around or going up and down the stairs a few times. It seems to help. I just hope it's not poor circulation or a blood clot or something! I'll bring this up at the doctors appointment next Tuesday.

I've also been having massive headaches that are SO annoying. I don't normally take anything for a headache and now that I'm knocked up I really don't want to take anything but yesterday I had to. SUCKS! Oh well, I guess the occasional headache is still better than morning sickness so I'll take it! Although yesterdays was so bad I thought I was going to throw up.

And my heart has been fluttering too. It's strange because it's almost like it's skipping a beat every so often. I thought I was a total freak of nature until I started talking to other mommies and they have all told me it's totally normal and only going to get worse. Great! I did a Baby Center search for it and pregnant women are pumping 1/3 more blood through their body, so it does make sense.

{gross alert}
I am trying to be honest as far as this pregnancy goes. This blog is my journal and I just so happen to share my journal with the world. With that said, I have gas. It's uncontrollable. Holding it in is no longer an option. I have never "broke wind" in front of Mr. Husband before and never planned on it either, well that's all changed since I got a baby in my belly. They usually aren't stinky but they are loud. I feel sorry for my cube mate.

I've been eating like a horse, all bad foods of course. I really hope to get a stomach for veggies sometime soon because my diet is seriously lacking in that department. I must admit, I am the unhealthiest pregnant person. There I said it, judge away. I also haven't been to the gym in weeks and I feel great about it. Maybe the second trimester energy surge will get me back into a routine of some sort, although I wouldn't bet on it.

Next Monday, as in less than a week from now, we find out the sex of Baby Butterbean!CANNOT WAIT! While my blog readers seem to agree that we are having a boy, everyone in noninternet life think we are having a girl, including Mr. Husband. I have no clue! I've heard where mothers have a feeling, well I'm missing that gene I guess.

{cute alert}
Mr. Husband is a knife collector, cool huh? Well last week he was more excited than usual about getting his new knife. When it came I realize why. The one side is baby pink and the other side is baby blue, on the girl side the blade says baby girl and on the boy side the blade says baby boy. Isn't that adorable!? So while he was playing with it he had his first sign that we are having a girl, he cut his finger on the girl side. We've also been playing a game where we flip it in the air and see what side it lands on, most often it lands on the boy side. We'll see!!!

And here we are at 13 weeks and 3 days...whoa baby!

  15. Ugh, I had one of those headaches that make you feel nauseous last week! Although mine, I think, was due to PMS. I didn't want to take anything either, but it got so bad, I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep with the pain.

    Glad to hear you're doing pretty well! Definitely have your leg checked out. It sounds like poor circulation to me.

    Can't wait to find out what you're having!

  17. OMG, the leg cramps. I used to wake up screaming and the hubs would have to rub my legs. My lil' man is awfully sweet though and worth all the pain he caused his mama. Ah ha

  18. first-I had the same leg cramps! lucky for you (note sarcasm) they will turn into big, scary middle-of-the-night cramps, too! ugh.

    second-I didn't get the headaches but I sure as heck was sick as a dog. So...headaches...versus puking?! Who knows...

    third-I had the flutter too!! It actually got BETTER. It felt like it was in my throat almost...! Totally normal as you know.

    I'm still sticking with boy...especially b/c of the unhealthy eating thing and lack of morning sickness. I think I'm right...but we shall see :)
