Randomness at it's finest. Here we go.
- Jimmy was out of town all weekend, duck hunting in Arkansas. That left me with lots of alone time with Kendall Paige. As part of my New Years Resolution, I thought this would be the perfect time to get in some friend time, for me and Kendall. Friday night my two best ladies came over for some pizza and girl chat. That night I had a 1, 3, and 5 year old {all girls} in my house. Talk about cray cray. It was so fun, the girls had a blast and we ate way too much pizza. If that's not a good night I don't know what is. After they left my playroom looked like this.
And I texted Jimmy something along the lines of, "just had 3 little girls in our house. We cannot have more children!!!". To which he agreed, lol. I loved having those little girls here, loved it, but I cannot imagine that 24/7.
- I joined COSI this weekend too. COSI is the Center of Science and Industry in the heart of downtown Columbus, basically that's a fancy way of saying it's a kick ass science museum. It's not JUST a science museum either, there is a playground that is just PERFECT for toddlers, perfect. Kendall and I had gone once before and I knew the next time we went we'd end up being members and sure enough, we went Saturday with some friends and signed up on the spot. So glad we did. Look how much fun these girls had, KP even got to "meet" Dora!
- Saturday night I decided it was finally time to clean up that playroom, yep I just closed the doors to it Friday night. Kendall had gotten a table and chair set for Christmas and it needed putting together too. I decided who needs a husband and poured myself a glass {or 3} of wine and put my Handy Mommy hat on.
Looks intimidating, huh? Well I don't know if it was the wine or if I'm just.that.good. but it was a breeze to put together and I was done in an episode of Parenthood.
And the girl? Loved it! But I think she might have a mild case of baby OCD because she insists on lining up the chairs in a STRAIGHT line, with no gap between the seats. And no one else, not even Teddy, can sit on them.
And the playroom? Looks the best it's looked in months. Oh and I realized I haven't really shown new pics of that room, I'm sorry! Well the wait is over! Now keep in mind we still need to figure out what to do with all that shelving so stuff is just haphazardly thrown up there.
- Ladies, don't let your husband pick your Scentsy smell. I let Jimmy pick the last one and while it's not terrible it's very masculine. Not my cup of tea. Must order new soon.
- Last week I asked my Facebook "fans" and Twitter to recommend a good drugstore shampoo/conditioner. I've tried lots and was hoping to get some recommendations I hadn't tried yet. A few people recommended Suave Rosemary Mint, saying it was comparable to Aveda's Rosemary Mint. Well...I have used Aveda's and no me gusta, made my hair feel...yucky! But I did take a gander through some of Suave's other "professional" options {I mean it's only $1.98!!!} and found a Matrix knockoff for fine hair. Sign me up! I got it, tried it and LOVE it! Seriously the first time I used it I was blown away by how much body my hair had! Oh and did I mention this stuff made my hair softer than soft? Like soft as the hair on Kendall's head. Like you can't even tell that it's been dyed and highlighted to death soft. Yeah, that.
- Even though our weekend was friend and fun filled, we still had time to relax and snuggle. Hate to say it, but I think this was my favorite moment from the whole weekend.
Sounds like you had a fun filled weekend!! Love the pictures of KP at that science museum place!! She looks soo into everything!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun weekend. I'm addicted to the Suave Professionals Almond and Shea Butter shampoo and especially the conditioner. I've tried the expensive brands and the Suave is actually much better.
ReplyDeleteYou two are beautiful! Love you both.
ReplyDeleteThis is an awesome post Shannon- I am so glad you girls had so much fun!! I love KP with her chairs- my older one isthe same way!! Hehe! And I love your hair! I wish we had COSI by us because that place looks like thebombdotcom!
ReplyDeletelooks like such a fun weekend. KP is so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun girls weekend :)
ReplyDeleteI do not like that Scentsy smell. Hope you get a better one soon haha!
Sounds like a great weekend! I love COSI! Never been to that one, but we've been to the one in Toledo (now called Imagination Station) many times and it is really awesome! We've been going there since my oldest kids were 1.5 & 3, and now that they're almost 9 and 10.5, and I've taken my younger girls there since they were babies, I can honestly say that it is fun for all ages. I should try out yours some time.
ReplyDeleteLove how Kendall lines up her chairs. Adorable.
ReplyDeleteWoah! Quite the weekend! Glad you got some QT with KP! And I am totally trying that shampoo, my hair is flatter than flat.
ReplyDeleteLizzy does the same thing with lining up chairs/crayons/whatever. I kinda hope she's got a little OCD bone in her body 'cause then she can help with cleaning ;)
ReplyDeleteAlso, I swear by the Suave Professionals stuff too!
First off I looove that rosemary mint shamp/cond too!! (makes me want to change next time I'm out) The playroom looks SOO cute and organized. And you're the best mom-- she is going to LOVE the Science Museum. SO fun!!
ReplyDeleteA. Kendall is adorable, growing so quickly and looks like she just loves life!
ReplyDeleteB. That playroom looks awesome, even when covered in toys from a fun-filled night!
C. Great job on the table and chairs-best to tackle those things with a little libation! ;)
D. Why the heck wouldn't snuggling be the best part of the weekend?!
This post makes me jealous. Both of your playroom (ahhh I cannot WAIT until we have a space for toys) and of the museum. I just said to Evan last night that I really wish we had more indoor places that would be fun for Evalyn. It's so hard in the winter when we can't play outside much, to find fun thins to do.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great weekend! That table and chair set is sooo cute! And your hair looks great. Imperial City? Uh...yah wouldn't have been my first choice. :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you guys had so much fun! & I'm definitely trying that shampoo! :)
ReplyDeleteAw, it looks like she loves those chairs!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat job! Very productive! Where did she get the table and chairs from...I love them! Also, I wish my hair looked like that after I just blow dried it. Instead it looks like an afro, until I use my straightener.
