Wedding Wednesdays

The Location.

The location is probably the most important thing for a bride to figure out RIGHT AWAY, as we all know the location MAKES the wedding. At first we thought about doing a "country" wedding at Mr. Husband's family farm (I still think about how amazing that could have been). But once we realized how much work that would have been, from set up, tear down, rentals, landscaping, leveling, porta johns, cleaning, and liabilities, we decided we better rethink all this because we only had EXACTLY one year. So we were back to square one. I called and priced a couple of different places, all were way out of our budget (of course) so when Mr. Husband suggested the country club he golfs at frequently I thought, eh ok we'll give it a look. I didn't love it, I'm not going to lie BUT it was a GREAT price because Mr. Husband is a member. I figured it could work so we booked it. Now our simple country wedding turned into a country club wedding and all my original ideas were out the window. No more pumpkin centerpieces and simple romantic dress. Now we needed romance, flowers, candlelight, and elegance. I think it turned out pretty nice though.
We did our ceremony on the patio and then moved into the tent for the reception. I was nervous because we really had no back up for rain but THANK GOD the weather pulled out and was PERFECTION! Here's the New Albany Links Golf Club.

  2. Beautiful venue! We knew immediately that we would have our wedding at the church where just about everyone in my family was married.

  4. "I have that same jewelry box from my MIL she got it at our rehearsal dinner. It's so gorgeous even though I don't have anything in it yet...oops!"

Haha it's hard to know what to use it for! I have put a few special things in there, and I mainly just love looking at it and listening to the music part! :) Hopefully someday you will come up with some use for it!

    Great post! Looks lovely!
