Wedding Wednesdays

The Dress.

This is probably the most exciting thing to look for and buy when a girl is planning her dream wedding. It can also become the most stressful (think Say Yes To The Dress) due to budget, styles, snotty sales girls, and options. Lucky for me I didn't have any of that when I found my little number.
I wish I had some grand story of how I stumbled across my diamond in the rough but instead it goes a little something like this. I went to David's Bridal on a Sunday afternoon to just "look" which lead to trying on. I tried on what I thought I wanted, a big, grand, Cinderella, ball gown. It was gorgeous. I loved it, until the sales lady brought me a more fitted "mermaid" style dress which I knew right away I was going to hate. But my mom insisted I try it on. So it took me about 15 minutes but I got the damn thing on. I.LOVED.IT. It was so flattering and was PERFECT for my body shape. I couldn't believe it, the style I always hated was now my favorite. However, the price tag was not. Oh well.
The following week my mom asked me to go to the Christian bookstore in my hometown because they now sold wedding dresses. Really? I was not hopeful. But I did it to suffice my mom and low and behold there was my dress...the Maggie Sottero Melena for a fraction of the cost of the David's Bridal one. I was sold. I went and picked up MOH KG and drug her back to the store to look at it. She loved it too. Really? Am I really going to buy my wedding dress at a Christian bookstore? Yes I did. I had no pushy sales people, no grand dressing room (in fact it was more like a storage closet), and no reason not to. Here's my bargain wedding dress.
