Well well well...hello from Mama Dew {signature to change}.
This week has been a whirlwind. I woke up at 5:30 this morning and thought "at this time last week we were headed to the hospital to meet our little bug". It's hard to believe that was an ENTIRE week ago, considering it feels like just yesterday.
Needless to say the week has FLOWN by. Thanks to the lovely 4 day stay in the hospital it made our time at home even shorter {Mr. Husband only got a week off}. I would be lying if I said I didn't cry when he left for work this morning. Not because I was afraid of being alone with the baby but because I was sad that he was going to miss whatever she did today {turned out to be a whole lot of sleeping}. I started thinking about the Darius Rucker song "It Won't Be Like This For Long" and I got all emotional.
Speaking of emotional, I cried yesterday when I heard "Love Like Crazy" on the CMT country countdown. That song just gets me EVERY time. It's the first chorus that does it.
Other than those two incidents I'd like to say my hormones seem to be evening out and I LOVE it. I missed my old fun self and I know Mr. Husband was happy to have his wife back. I have also loved enjoying a few cold ones which I may or may not have had during my hospital stay.
Being a mom is awesome. Even at 3:30 in the morning when she's up just for the heck of it, I just look into her little muffin eyes and don't mind that I've been up twice before in the same evening.
We started watching episodes of A Baby Story and Bringing Home Baby a few weeks before birth, that was our form of Lamaze class, and I must ask, "where do they find those people?". I mean I'm not saying brining home a baby is a walk in the park but I'd like to think Mr. Husband and I have it down already. We take turns, we help each other, we don't stress over the little things and we love her to pieces. It's been an amazing bonding experience and one that makes me love Him even more.
I'm healing up pretty nicely. Everyone that has come to visit keeps saying they can't believe how mobile I am, especially for having a c-section. I don't know if my doctor is just THAT amazing or I recover fast but I have NO complaints. Sure my belly is sore and numb still, but I can walk, go up and down stairs, pick up the baby, do dishes and laundry, bend, play on the floor, and shower just fine. My doctor told me on the day of discharge to "not do anything" but apparently he doesn't know that I live in a wood floor house with two, white, shedding dogs. Thank God for my MIL who came over today, not to see KP but, to clean! I'm not kidding. She's a godsend and she did a couple loads of laundry for me and I was so happy {I'm starting to run out of post-pregnancy clothing options}. Now if I could have that every day I'd be a happy mama.
Here are a few "recent" pics of Kendall. I know that's the only reason you came here anyway...
