Hair Stuffs

So lately I have been bored with my hair.  I't's at the awkward in between stage because I'm still growing it out from when I thought it was a brilliant idea to get a bob at 9 months pregnant.  Seriously who thinks that is a good idea?
Lately when I do my normal "wash and wear" look it ends up flat and lifeless by 9 o'clock.  No bueno.  So my trusty cousin reminded me that I have some great tools under the guest bathroom sink.
Up first was my 3 barrel curling iron.
I have had this thing since my Britney Spears days {circa 2001}.  I used to love it but thought that nowadays it may be too...poufy?  You know, today's hair is all about that loose, natural wave.  Well it took me 3 days of practicing but I finally got it where I liked it.

So that was a success I think. Minus the fact that my roots are so light it looks like I'm balding.  More on that in a minute.
The following day I wanted to see if I could acheive that natural curl look.  I have this crazy iron, I don't even know what it's called, and I haven't used it in YEARS.  Actually think I only used it twice previously.
I actually LOVED the way this turned out so much that I did it for the following 3 days too. This way was a little more involved and took longer but I liked the results better.  More curly, less crimpy.
And then I decided that all this curling business is for people who have time on their hands and opted for a more natural, easy look.  I like my hair straight but it's just so lifeless when I blow dry and/or flat iron it.  So I pulled out the ole velcro rollers.
Kendall was freigtened when I got her out of her crib like this.  Can't say I blame her.  The end result was fab.
So from that day on I have been using velcro rollers every day.  It's nice and easy because I can dry my hair and set the rollers while I put on my makeup.  Right before I get dressed I take them out and viola!  Pretty, bouncy hair.
Speaking of hair...I'm thinking of going to the light side. I know, I know, I've written all these posts on how i LOVE my dark hair and didn't think I'd ever go back to my blonde ways.  Well those days are gone and I'm craving my golden locks.  I'm thinking something along the lines of Ms. Aniston.
I don't want to be as blonde as I was once before but I'm thinking this may be my happy medium.  What do you think?  I have an appointment scheduled for Nov 4th!  EEEK!

  2. I may have to try the Velcro rollers...love the way those turned out! My hair is stick straight and has NO body except for the 5 minutes after I blow dry it. I think that blonde would look great on you!

  3. Do it. Blondes have more fun. And you can do nice golden tones that will make maintenance easier.

  7. Gosh I'm inspired by how cute you look for work. Today my hair is in a pony tail, my make up is horrendous (not to mention my crappy postpartum skin), and I absolutely hate the shoes I'm wearing. Thanks for kicking me in the arse to get with it. :)

  11. my hair is just like yours..after i dry and straighten it, its pretty flat! i use velcrow rollers too, but 1/2 way thru the day my hair falls..so after i take out the rollers i lift sections of my hair up and spray them, then run my fingers thru it a little..makes it kinda messy but with volume. i LOVE that color of jen's hair. do it!

  12. So you wash, dry, insert velcro rollers, then do makeup? I've used hot roller for yearrrs. I'd like to see how velcro rollers will work.

  18. Hehe. This posts makes me laugh because I have naturally curly hair and I can't do a thing with it! I just throw some sunglasses in and go (to keep it out of my face). I need to learn how to do something cute with it.

  19. I totally understand your boredom. after I got married 3 years ago (I had hair half way down my back, naturally light blonde, SUPER thick) I chopped into an asymmetrical bob (I called it the Kellie Pickler) It looked cute but I missed my hair terribly.. I've been growing it out since but every few months, I end up changing it up.. I wanted to chop it recently but didn't know how so the girl gave me side bangs.. me + side bangs = no bueno... so now I'm stuck growing them out again.. ugh.. BUT I think the Jen aniston color would be GREAT on you!! btw I recently realized you are in Ohio. I'm in NY (not the city) and almost went to college in Ohio :)

  20. Ok so I have very curly hair naturally although as you've seen I always flat iron it. I'm so bored with it, maybe velcro rollers would work but I'd have to straighten first. Argh, the work! You look fab!

  21. How would you describe your hair texture? Fine, course, thin...etc. I am ALWAYS trying to find ways to curl my hair to make it look cute and not like Shirley Temple and always fail. Your look good in all those pics! And I can't wait to see your new color. For some reason I feel weird about coloring while I am preg so I want to soon after! :)
