Before we go any further, let's get right down to business.  I know you have been all, "Geez Shannon you've been  hyping up these giveaways all week, will you just announce the winners already?!" , so that's what I'm here to do!
The winner of the Girl In Pearls print {of your choice}is...

Now onto the loser portion of this post.
Biggest Loser started and I watch every year and every time I say the same thing, this show is so damn inspiring!  I mean if I hadn't just lost 47 lbs I would sure be motivated to jump on the treadmill tonight and start!  I mean there are old people, people with health conditions, people who were ready to GIVE UP until this show came into their lives.  Every week I cry, every week I am mesmerized.  This week was no different.  I mean when Bonnie reached the top of that hill I couldn't take it, the flood gates were open and there was no stopping them.  Oh and don't even get me started on Hannah coming back.
Did you guys see her!?  I mean she rocks!  I am hoping they kick Ana to the curb and hire her as a new trainer next season!  Love her!
And so Jimmy's mom took this picture of me and KP last week {don't mind KP's camo dress, it was for laughs}.
And Jimmy's response was "WOW!  Look at you!", followed by, "This is that picture that in 20 years you look back and say, 'Gosh look how skinny I was & I thought I was fat then'".   And it got me thinking...will I?  I mean I'd like to think that in 20 years I'll still care about what I look like and my body and I won't "let myself go".  Just like on Biggest Loser, there have been some success stories and some people who went home and just couldn't find a balance and gained some, if not all, of the weight back.
I don't want to be that person that couldn't maintain.  I like to think of those 47 lbs as 47 lbs I'll NEVER see again.  Good riddance.  I am not mad at my husband for his comment, rather grateful.  It really made me stop and say "No, no I won't" because in 20 years I'm still going to be 47 lbs lighter and I'm still going to look great {and rock sky high wedges}.
I know that some things are out of our control.  Health issues, family, & TIME are all factors in this weight loss battle and a lot of times contribute to weight gain.  So who knows, maybe I will look back and think that but here's hoping I can have the willpower {and good health} to say "NO!" and keep on walking my skinny* ass down the street.

*Note I did say "skinny".  I hate people who cannot admit that.  I mean I'm not like Natalie Portman skinny but I am like normal girl, size 4 skinny.  Some girls who are in 0s and 2s can't even say that and it annoys me to no end.  Sure I still have chub I can pinch but overall, I'm skinny.

  8. Way to go! I love this! I feel the same way! I don't want to look back and think "Man look how skinny I was then" and I also agree, when women can't admit they look beautiful it's exhausting and unattractive (not that I've not struggled with this from time to time!)

  9. That is an awesome picture!! You look so good and you are an inspiration. As of today, I am down 45 pounds since the day I gave birth (6.5 months ago). I still have 8 to go to pre preg weight but another 20 on top of that (and that is a HIGH goal weight) I had to buy big girl jeans too because I cant get in my regular clothes but the maternity were too big...I love the Biggest loser too except when they start weighing the same as me and they still have a long ways to go :)
