300 Ab Challenge- Results

It's the moment you've all been waiting for, or so I like to tell myself.  The results of the 300/30 Day Ab Challenge are in. Technically the 30 days were up on Tuesday but my poison ivy was still a hot mess so I didn't want to scare anyone.

I can honestly say, now, that this routine is just part of my every day life- just like brushing my teeth or taking a shower. I am definitely going to continue doing it because the proof is in the pudding.  I've done lots of ab workouts in my 29 years and I can tell you this is the first time I've seen these kind of results and this quickly.  Not even Jillian was able to give me these "abs" {I use "" because clearly my abs are still a work in progress}.
I should also note that I haven't actually lost any weight during this process, just toned up.  I wish I were down about 10 lbs but the truth of the matter is my body is changing for the better and that's enough to keep me going.
I still have that little pouch-y-looks-like-I'm-2-months-pregnant belly but it is tighter and firmer.  The other thing I have to keep in mind is that this has just been over 30 days and these are sit-ups, not miracle workers or liposuction.  Hopefully when I come back for a 60 day update it'll be much flatter and far less pouch-y.
Like I said in the halfway update, the first 4 days were the worst.  I was sore, I didn't want to do it, I could barely finish the roll-up, v-ups, but I just kept telling myself, "no pain, no gain".  After day 4 I didn't hurt anymore and the moves got easier.  I can now blow through all the moves in probably 10 minutes and never feel sore the next day {which actually bums me out because I feel like it's not working unless there's pain involved}.
And further proof that this is working?  I took a picture when I got my bathing suit {April 10} thinking, "meh, I don't look too shabby" but now?  It's a whole new ball game.
And on that note, me and Kendall Paige are off to the pool for the first time this summer!

  10. A. MAZE. ING.

Girl, this is just what I needed to keep going. You look phenomenal!

This is going to sound so silly, but have you done it with shoes on? I usually don't but did yesterday & I couldn't believe how that little bit of resistance made such a big difference. Likewise, once I felt like it wasn't as challenging (um, I still can't do the roll up v ups!) I started doing all of the exercises with weights in my hands. Problem solved :)

  48. I found this ab workout a couple of months ago and did it a few times, but was so sore after I couldn't imagine doing it everyday. Hearing you say that you were only sore the first few days has inspired me to try it again. I am more determined this time since I have seen your amazing progress. Thank you so much for posting these pictures. Congrats to you, you look amazing!

  53. Hey girl :) I just wanted to say hi and ask if you have been checked or done a self check for diastasis recti, it is often the cause of the post prego mummy tummy. (I know from experience) I only ask because certain ab exercises only perpetuate the diastasis! It's my mission to spread the word about this because so so many women have it and do not know it, and try to fix their mummy tummy with traditional core exercises and make the problem worse. I do see progress from your day 1 to day 30 picture (from the front its astonishing the difference!)You look fantastic and I hope you continue to make the amazing progress in reshaping your physique post baby. xoxoxo - Heather

I'm checking off the days on the calendar to keep track and took before pictures. Thank you for putting yourself out there - it gave me the motivation to change this post baby belly.

  55. I am a bit confused, but what is the routine?

    ReplyDelete
  56. So I've been doing this and I was reading the comments posted on the blog post and I thought you might find this interesting. The pictures of the chick doing it are actually pictures stolen from another blog! They aren't even of the author doing it! Go check out the comments especially the ones at the end of the post. She edited the post eventually to say where she got the pics from but I thought it was interesting to say the least...

Also, I have a question for you. I started the program and got to day 3 and got sick for about a week. Do you think I should just start over? I mean, it was only three days.

  57. FABULOUS! (read in a sing song voice - because that's how I said it!)

  58. My hubby and I just "graduated" P90X. AbRipper definitely works...that stupid baby pooch though!! Man, it's just there for life, ain't it? Kiddos are worth it though! I'm bummed 'cuz some friends of mine told me to help get rid of my pooch, change my eating. Sorry, I like brownies and ice cream. I'd rather have a teensy pooch and enjoy food! hehe Kudos to you, lookin' good!

This is some more info on the diastasis.. you should really look into it. Everyone should be educated on why you are "pooching".
