How Do They Do It?

So a lot of blonde celebrities have sported the "grown out root" look and still manage to look chic, modern, and gorgeous. For example...

My question is HOW DO THEY DO IT?! I mean I haven't had my hair done in 8 weeks and I look like trailer trash a hot mess! I mean really is there a way for the normal, everyday woman to pull this look off? Please tell me! I'm not ready to make the trip into the salon just yet and *gasp* have even contemplated box hair dye and just going dark for the fall...I know! I LOVE being a blonde but sometimes the upkeep is just TOO MUCH. UGH!

  1. I don't get it either!! I didn't highlight my hair at all during the first trimester so it looked like ass for like 2 months straight. LC's looks is so pretty, I wish I could pull that off! But, my "normal" color is a dirty blonde that is not attractive, so even if I tried I think it would still look weird.

I think the secret is being rich and having a hair stylist who fixes you up every couple weeks :)

  3. I don't think that look is from a grow out unfortunately, I think it's on purpose. ;) I think they have their hair stylist color it that way.

  4. Girl, I FEEL YA!! My root grow out is so bad and my hair grows so fast that by week 4, I am total trailer park status! I have been toying with going dark again too but I don't know. I always want to go back to blonde a month later. Being a fake blonde is a LOT of upkeep.

  5. I could not agree more! having two babies means getting into the salon couldn't be harder!!

I went dark after baby #2 and HATED it, so I opt for the trailer trash look every so often haha!

  6. It's because they're celebs and can get by with stuff that us "normal" people can't, lol.

That said, I totally think you should try coloring your own hair. As long as you're not making a drastic change, it's generally safe and easy to do.

  8. I have asked myself the same question. Why is it that the celebs can get away with not spending $$ on touchups!?
