Sh!t is About to Get Real

So remember when I posted my 30 Day/300 Ab Challenge results and was like "yep, I'm sold, I'm going to keep this up!"?  Then remember how I didn't post anymore about it? Yeah that's because I was a big fat liar.
Just like I did with the logging of calories on MyFitnessPal, once I hit my goal I just expected my body would stay there, I guess.  Clearly I've learned nothing during this weight loss struggle.
So while I didn't completely give up doing the challenge I wasn't doing it religiously like I had been.  Same with counting calories. I would do it one day, not do it all weekend, kinda sorta log my calories but then see I was going over so quit for the day.  Yeah, like that.
Truth be told. Since I hit my goal weight, last September, I've gained 15 pounds.  I can't help but be embarrassed as I type that.  But, in true L.A.I.D. fashion, I like to keep it real.  When I think about that I can't help but wonder what my results would have looked like if I wouldn't have packed on the pounds.
I have always been they type to lose in the winter, gain in the summer, completely opposite of how it should be.  I blame the delicious cook outs, iced cold brews, and too many fun activities to work out. Pathetic, I know, but it's the truth.
I haven't felt comfortable in my skin in a few weeks now.  I've noticed things fitting a bit tighter, not looking as cute, just kinda blah.  I've also been rocking the tankini again.  I wore my bikini like twice and then I started feeling really self conscious so I went and bought a really cute {and flattering} tankini and I've been rocking it ever since.  Lame.  My skin also doesn't look so hot .  I blame that on the lack of water I've been drinking.  Must drink more water.
But we go to the beach in less than a month.  I am determined to be the hottest I've been by then.  My brother-in-law has challenged our whole family to get into the best beach body possible, the winner gets pampered by all on day 1 of vacation.  You know what that means for me?  I get childcare the first day of vacation.  If that's not motivation to get my ass up and the lbs down, I don't know what is.  Seriously.  I'm also thinking that I should pull some Mariah Carey shit and demand only blue M&Ms and only red Skittles.  Why not?
So with the push of my family competition and with the help of my Vi-Shakes, I am down 3lbs this week, already!  I officially started doing the ab challenge again too and I can only imagine the results I'll get when combining it with calorie counting.  I'm actually really excited.

  1. Yay good luck! I am just as bad...I started doing the ab challenge and then tapered off. Same thing with MFP. I still get emails from them being all "Come back...we miss you tracking your 5th weight watchers ice cream."

I blame cookouts too. All the burgers and dogs...a hotdog is legit 8 WW points. I couldn't believe that. But it just tastes so good. So does sangria.

  2. I haven't even looked at a gym in almost a month. I weighed myself this morning and I'm up a pound. I think it is a warning to get myself back, pretty sure it will be 10 lbs by next week. Just sucks, I would so much rather be on the beach drinking than in the gym! Let's do this! I'll start again with ya!

Good luck, I know you can do it!

  4. I give you mad props for doing the 30/300 or 300/30--whatever it's called. When you initially blogged it, I Google'd it and gave it a whirl.

    Um. Yeah. Right.

I got through five and totally gave up. This stuff is no joke.

So I guess I just have to know....how in the world did you get through it? Did you start super slow and do a few a day? How long did it take you to work up to the full workout?

  5. Okay I totally don't have any results to show, because I was all "I'm sold! I'm doing this" and then totally didn't. I blame it on running. haha! But seriously...I NEED to do this. If I could do the ab challenge and run and watch what I eat...I would be in a different world of fitness. I NEED to do this with you. We should check in with each other on Twitter. I need a kick in the pants!

  6. I think staying motivated is the hardest part! Sometimes you just need a break. But good for you for getting back into the swing of things!

  9. GO GIRL! I just printed out the 30 day ab challenge yesterday and laminated it. I took it with me to the gym yesterday! YOU CAN DO IT! THE BEACH WANTS TO SEE THAT HOT MOMMA IN A BIKINI! However, I do think Tankini's are just as cute! I rock a tankini and LOVE it! ;)

  10. girl, I totally know how you feel. I did the 30 days, swore I would keep it up 3x a week and yet haven't done any sit up in a week.

  11. Good luck!

I totally quit the ab challenge. I felt like it was making me look fatter. I'm sure it was just muscle building but I am a "want to see results NOW" kind of girl and so I quit!

I need to find something to help though!

  12. I've been using MFP for the past three weeks and have lost 6.4 pounds since then! It's a lot of hard work and effort, but it really pays off.

I'm not sure that I'm ready to do the ab challenge yet (I still have a lot to lose before I can do some of those moves), but I plan to try it when I have less in the way!

  19. Aww, I LOVE your honesty! You can do this! Consistency is really hard for me too! I just have to think of it as a lifestyle, but so often I just want it to be a goal, and then I lose it, and then I can't eat whatever and do whatever again. Does NOT make sense.

I'm the same way with seasons too. Summer is just hot and lazy, no time to lose weight, I'm at the pool!

Good luck and work hard! I'll be joining in the AB CHALLENGE! Rawr!

  20. We love you cause you keep shit real. And because you're human aka in any weight loss journey there are ups and downs, good times and bad. I'd say a day of pampering and childcare on vacation is prime motivation! And holy shit, 3 pounds this week?! Keep it up!
