Wednesday Weekly Weigh In

Well I am up 2 lbs. this week, DAMN HOLIDAY WEEKEND!!! I met w/a trainer on Saturday when I went to bootcamp and I got some great tips. This week I have taken on a different approach to my workout/diet so we'll see if it pays off next week. Wish me luck. Dew family vaca is only 19 days away, time to get crackin'!

DIY Door Sign

OK so I totally stole this idea from The New Mrsbut I just thought it was too cute! The girls and I will be getting ready on site the day of the wedding, and what better way to let people know where we are than with these adorable door tags. I have created 5 so far and would love to know what you think. I'm sure between now and October I'll come up with more designs but here's what I have so far...

O-H-I-O

Well my FBIL (second from the left, top row) and the Ohio State Buckeyes has made it to the Big Ten Baseball Tournament. I am so proud of him, Tuesday he was awarded the all-Big Ten first team. As a junior he ranks 3rd in the Big Ten with a .395 average. No. 1 seed Ohio State plays no. 4 seed Illinois tonight at 7:05. I can't wait to go cheer him on!! O-H!

Wednesday Weekly Weigh In

WWWI will return next week for posting (aka I was not happy w/what I saw on the scale last night).

While I Can...

I am going to absorb EVERY wedding related show I can right now, while I'm still a bride and it's acceptable! LOL. Now that Future Mr is working nights I have nothing better to do than work out and watch lovey dovey (sort of) get engaged/married/newlywed show on TV. Can I just say that I love how ABC is calling Monday nights Marry Me Monday!
Monday
The Bachelorette

OK so I am not normally a Bachelor/Bachelorette fan but I figure why not? I haven't watched since Trista and Ryan got married. I must say I think I'm hooked after just one 2 hour episode! I think Jillian seems like a really fun girl, outgoing, and willing to put her heart out there in hopes of finding Mr. Right- all for the sake of my entertainment. The first episode was pretty uneventful, Jillian meets all of her suitors while they try to make the best first impression (or so they think). She has 25 potentials and each one of them is trying to get their quality time in with her before she has to choose just 20 of them. BUT WAIT! THERE'S A TWIST...in comes 5 more! So now she has 30 and can only keep 20...exhilarating.
Now the men...there's the creepy foot fetish guy- Tanner. OMG seriously fine if you have a foot fetish but must you pull that out on the first "date" and for all America to hear/see? I think not. I cannot believe she picked him. Kiptyn has a great name and is such a cutie. Mike the break dancer cracks me up and I think would be so fun to be around, husband material? not so sure. David is from OH so I feel like I should like him but his bug eyes and lack of words upon first meeting Jillian were such a turn off for me. Brad seemed like such a tool, did anyone else notice the glares he was giving to the other men as she was handing out the roses? Wes, oh Wes, he melts my heart. I am a sucker for a guitar playing man. He's my pick for now. The season looks like it's going to be a roller coaster for sure- 3 MEN HAVE GIRLFRIENDS?! WTF? Can't wait!
Here Come The Newlyweds

This show premiers next Monday and I CANNOT wait! I have watched a couple free episodes/previews and it looks like it will be a hoot! Couples will compete in a series of newlywed related challenges to win a cash prize. The couples look hilarious. If you want to preview too go here.
Tuesday
Real Housewives of New Jersey

I know I shouldn't consider this show on my rooster for newlywed bliss but it's about housewives and so it belongs. WOW these ladies are something else! I thought OC and NYC were amusing, these ladies just might take the cake. Jacqueline seems to be the only one that seems "normal". She at least has a heart and be honest. She's my favorite. Teresa is by far the most entertaining. "I'm not a stage mom", are you kidding me? You tell your girls to pose "fabulosity" and tell your little girl she needs sparkles on her lips even though she told you no lip gloss. She's such a diva. I love it! Danielle is going to cause the most drama this season. Why on earth would you want to go on a girls night w/girls that 1. don't like you and 2. didn't invite you? Seems desperate to me. Oh and not to mention she talks just like Ty (Brittany Murphy) from Clueless, annoying much? I think so. Dina is expression-less. I honestly don't think she ever cracks a smile, EVER. I think I like her though. She seems to keep it real and tell it like it is and I like that. Caroline belongs on the Sopranos, period. She's such a mafia mom and I like her. Her son, the one that wants to be a lawyer, not the one that wants to own a strip club, is such a cutie pie! Her daughter- get over yourself. You have been out of school for 2 years and have accomplished nothing! Get a job! Needless to say I'm addicted to this show after I swore I would not be. Reality show whore? I think so.
Friday
Say Yes to the Dress
I don't care if it's a rerun or new, I watch them all with the same enthusiasm. I love to see how much these girls spend on their dresses and what they chose. Some don't find anything at all, seriously? in Kleinfeld's you couldn't find a dress? Then it probably doesn't exist. Probably the most memorable episode for me was the girl that wanted the custom dress with a see-thru bodice (insert *shocking* eyes here)! $28K later it was not EXACTLY what she wanted and so back to square one. WOW, talk about Bridezilla.
Sunday
Desperate Housewives

America's most dramatic street, Wisteria Lane. The season finale aired this past Sunday and boy was it a cliffhanger! Just as Mike and Catherine are about to leave for their Vegas wedding Mike catches a glimpse of the video where Crazy Dave confesses to killing Mike's son, MJ. Mike rushes back to save the day and long story short, MJ is ok and Mike and Susan end up in a lip lock. Cut to 3 months later, Mike is standing at the alter with a veiled bride, who is it?! OMG I want to know so bad and hope *fingers crossed* that it is Susan! What do you think? Lynette and Tom find out they will be having ANOTHER set of twins! Can't believe it, love it! They are my favorit DH couple! Bree ends up having an affair with her attorney/Susan's ex, Karl. Can't wait to see how this pans out, or how Susan will react. I was certain this season was going to suck when I saw they fast-forwarded 5 years but boy was I wrong, I love it just as much as ever!

While I am completely aware that I watch WAY too much TV, I just can't get enough. I realize that most of these shows are completely far fetched (especially Desperate Housewives) but you must admit they are entertaining. I'm only going to be a bride for 4 more months so I'm soaking up all the bride-y junk I can. Ok most of these I'll probably continue to watch long after the wedding ;-)

Home Sweet Home?

Future Mr and I are currently renting a 2 bedroom townhome and our lease is up in September (I know we have time) but the Future In Laws currently have their second home for sale and I say we move in! LOL. Obviously we'd pay for it, I'm not a cheapa$$. But honestly I can see this being home...who couldn't? Future Mr LOVES the 5 acre yard (so would Chanel and Casey) and the Ohio State basement. I love the two decks, attached garage, and HOT TUB! When do we move in?

Reception Decor

I wish I had better pics of the tent, but here is what they have online...

I definitely want to get some sort of light for ambiance and actual lighting (lighting in the tent sucks!) but I am torn. At first I totally wanted to do something like this with the lanterns

But after I saw Pink Sass'tent I thought that might be even BETTER!!!

What's the verdict? I don't think I can go wrong either way but it's fun to get opinions!

The Perfect Balance

bal.ance (n): A stable mental or psychological state; emotional stability.

Relationships are all about finding that perfect balance. We have so many priorities in life; work, school, gym, friends, family, extracurriculars, that it suddenly becomes hard to find time for your relationship. It seems silly to say, especially for couples who live together, but you really have to make time for each other.
In come Future Mr and I. Recently Future Mr started working 2nd shift (4pm-12) and it's really put a strain on our relationship. At first it's no big deal but night after night of going to bed alone really starts to wear on a bride-to-be. You start to miss things you take for granted day in and day out, like eating dinner together. I love to cook and for the past 2 weeks I haven't done much of it b/c I don't like cooking for one.
It is fun though finding ways to keep your relationship alive and exciting even when you only see each other 2 days a week really. Future Mr and I have started leaving each other notes on the counter for each other to read when we get home from work. I love this new ritual b/c we end up saying things in the letters that we wouldn't normally if we were seeing each other. Last night, even though he wasn't tired yet and really wanted to watch Rambo, Future Mr came to bed with me and watched it in bed with headphones on (even though sound doesn't bother me), just so we could at least go to bed together. It's little things like that that really make me appreciate our time together.
Life is short and you never know what's around the corner. Cherish these moments you have together and find ways every day to let your someone special know you love them, before it's too late.

Wednesday (Sort Of) Weekly Weigh In

Ok well I know it's technically Thursday BUT I did weigh in yesterday, I was just too lazy to take a picture last night, LOL. I'm finally down to 140!!! I thought I was going to be stuck at 144 FOREVER! Now if I could just lose 10 more I'll be a happy gal!

SPINOFF...Favorite Famous Engagement Rings

It's a rather slow day in Soon to be Dew-land so I thought I'd post some bling for your viewing pleasure...

As much as I hate to put these two anywhere on my blog I have to admit I LOVE Heidi's ring, I mean just look at it! I believe this was the first one Spencer gave her, one that she no longer wears- CRAZY GIRL!

Now I would never pick something like this but Christina Aguilera's engagement ring is so unique you can't help but be drawn to it.

Well Tom Cruise sure knows how to impress. Katie Holmes engagement ring is TDF! Look at all those diamonds!

I absolutely L-O-V-E Eva Longoria- Parker's ring. It's simple and (albeit huge)classic.

Joel Madden, if you are reading skip this part. Nicole Richie's engagment ring to then boyfriend DJ AM was a show stopper. Not one for colored stones but this one is just, WOW!

Newly engaged Rachel Bilson has a gorgeous new ring. It's very simple and something that any girl would be happy to recieve. I love the vintage look of this solitare.

I know the word is still out on wheter K-Fed bought Brit Brit's ring but regardless it was a stunner. Two slim pave bands with a HUGE rock separating them- sorry this pic is the best I could do

It doesn't get more classic than this solitare given to Avril Lavigne by now husband Deryk Whibley.

Angelina eat your heart out. I absolutely love Jennifer Aniston's ring from then husband Brad Pitt. It's so unique and so her IMO.

Weight Loss Tuesdays Move...

I have moved weigh in day to Wednesday. So for those wondering what happened to the weekly updates they will be back tomorrow...STAY TUNED!

Famous Weddings

I am feeling quite bride-y today and I am loving looking through different wedding photos. Here are a few of my favorite famous weddings. What are yours?

Of course #1 is Nick and Jessica. Oh how I miss those Newlywed days

I loved Rebecca Romijn's carefree bride look. Very beachy- I love beach weddings!

Move over Angelina! This was the only pic the media ever got of Brad and Jen's wedding. I love this pic, hate Angelina for breaking them up.

Did anyone else watch Till Death Do Us Part? It chronicled Dave Navarro and Carmen Electra's wedding and I loved it (call me a reality show junkie). Carmen was such a beautiful bride and I just think this pic is classic and shows just how happy she was in the moment.

Can you say TO DIE FOR! Kevin Costner's rustic Idaho wedding was B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L! I mean look at that view! This would be my ideal wedding. I remember the first time I saw these in People I died!

While this is definitely not my style, I think it suited Gwen perfectly. Look how happy!

I am definitely NOT an Avril Lavigne fan but I think she cleaned up so well for her wedding to Derek Whibley. I love the hair, dress, and flowers- stunning.

Ashlee Simpson looks absolutely adorable in this pic. Her wedding to Pete Wentz was very rocker/goth but I thought it seemed perfect for the couple.

Love Love Love Ellen! Her bride Porita De Rossi looks great and I think they are a beautiful couple.

Could this couple get any hotter? Cindy Crawford and her husband Rande Gerber have been married for over 10 years (a lifetime in Tinsel Town). These two obviously know what it takes to make a marriage last.

Yes I think Pink is just as annoying as the next person. But you cannot deny that she looked her absolute best the day she married Carey Hart. This dress was a show stopper.

I do realize that most of the couples on my list of favorites are no longer married, which proves money and fame do not buy happiness (but it sure does make for a spectacular wedding!)

*WARNING* Gushy lovey dovey post ALERT!

I love this man. Future Mr is home from work today and I just got this text "been thinking aobut you and how in love with you i am all day. fyi". This is why I'm marrying him in less than 5 months now! I love you too baby.
