SO WHAT! Wednesday

This week I'm saying SO WHAT if...
So What Wednesday

  • I honestly think I'm sleeping better because of the new bedroom furniture.
  • I want a new iPhone case but there's nothing wrong with the one I have.
  • I was having withdrawals because I didn't watch Pretty Little Liars all weekend.
  • I got really excited when I got 3 new sponsors this week!  Interested?  There's still time/spots available {use code COLD for 25% off}.
  • I'm thinking I'm going to spend all summer in maxi dresses and skirts.
  • I am hoping to see lots of new faces today thanks to Laura's link up on Monday {say HI if your a new link-uper}!
  • I ate almost an entire bag of frozen ravioli for dinner. It serves 4.
  • I bought Kendall princess panties because she said she'd go pee pee in the potty if I did.
  • I looked back through pics of our house when we first moved in and I'm jealous of how clean it was.
  • I stored away all of my "skinny" summer clothes already.  I mean they're not going to fit so why have them taunt me?
  • I randomly bought cinnamon crunch bagels this week and it's turned out to be the best random purchase ever.  YUM!

Say Hello, Will Ya?

Today is Say Hello Monday around the blog world.  Laura is hosting this really fun link up where you basically share some fun facts and some fun blogs.  Who doesn't love learning about new blogs?  I know I do.

1. What blogs do you visit daily? Please list 1-3 of your favorites.

- Katie: Loves of Life.  I love her outlook on life, she's such an inspiration.  Her girls are adorable and she just seems like someone I'd be friends with if we met in real life.
- Kristen: First Name Smith.  I mean, duh.  She's a blog friend turned real life friend.  She's THAT cool.  And funny.  And pretty.
- Mandy: House of Rose.  Mandy, Mandy, Mandy...where do I begin?  Her home tours and DIY projects will blow you out of the water.  She's got a great fashion sense and a good heart. You can't not like her.

2. Are you on Instagram? If so, what is your user name?

Yep, Yep!  I'm shannondew.  Come find me and you'll see lots of pics of KP, food, and belly pics.

3. Can we find you on Pinterest? What's your Pinterest address, and what can we expect to see you pinning most? (recipes, DIY projects, home decor, etc.)

Who isn't on Pinterest these days?  You can find me here.  My biggest boards are my Food! board {I love trying new recipes} and My Style board {I love recreating some outfits I've seen on there}.

4. What are your favorite blog link-ups to participate in? (weekly link-ups other bloggers have...any number will do...please link us to them!)

Well...obviously SO WHAT! Wednesday is #1 on my list of link-ups, obviously.  Other than that I dabble in a few others.
Fab Fridays with Laura:  Basically you share some things that you are finding FAB for the week.
Friday Letters with Ashley:  You can write letters to anyone/anything you want.  It can be quite comical.
Hey!  That's Pin-tastic with AP:  Find something on Pinterest and make it your own.

5. Why do you blog?

I blog because I love it.  I love sharing things with the world.  I love "meeting" new people.  I love the tips and advice I get with the simple click of a button.  I love that I can be "friends" with people I've never met and are {in some cases} hundreds of miles away.

6. Tell us one random fact about yourself.

4 years of blogging and I'm not sure I have any random facts that you haven't already heard.  Hmmm...in middle school {5th or 6th grade} I was so terrified of going to high school {in 3-4 years} that I made myself sick.  I stopped eating, always had a stomach ache and would only eat if other people were around.  My mom took me to the doctor and they obviously found nothing wrong with me.  I never told them the reason behind it.  Heck, my mom is probably just finding out right now too.

Thoughts for Thursday

I haven't done a random, here's what's on my mind post in a while so here you go.

***
So I'm annoyed.  I blame it on the case of S.A.D. that I swear I get every year.  I hate the cold.  I hate the snow.  I hate winter.  I thought I'd be all happy-go-lucky and enjoy it this year but that's not the case.  In fact, I think I'm more annoyed than ever.  You see, we heat our house {mainly} with a wood burning fireplace insert.  Sure it's awesome, saves us a ton of money on propane to heat the house and who doesn't love cozy-ing up to next to a roaring fire?  Me.  I am over it.  I'm tired of tramping outside in the subzero temperatures to bring more wood in.  I'm sick of all the dust that damn thing creates.  Seriously I cannot keep our house clean with this thing.  I hate that even though we have a humidifier our house is always dry.  I hate it all.  I hate winter, that will never change apparently.
***
Is blogging dying?  I swear if I read one more "I'm taking a break" or "I took a break and didn't care" post I might scream.  I mean, I get it.  We all have periods of writers block, it happens.  But so just take a break, blog when you feel like it, no pressure.  It's not that serious.  I feel like so many people get so caught up in "I have to post EVERY day" that they lose sight of why they started blogging in the first place.  Blog when/if you want and don't when you don't.  Easy peasy.  No need to be all dramatic about it.  I still happen to love blogging.  I love the friends I have made and pretty much the whole community.  Of course there are exceptions but, for the most part, blogging still rocks my socks.

***
Am I the only one with a toddler that refuses 3.5 seconds of independent play?  I mean seriously!  I will set out all of her toys thinking, "OK I can finally go unload the dishwasher in peace" and then 2 seconds later she's {literally} hanging on my leg.  What gives?  I know I should cherish this time that she wants to spend with me and soak it up because in about 12 years she won't want anything to do with me but HOLY COW, mama needs some space sometimes.

***
Can we talk about Private Practice for a minute?  Ummm...why did I not know it was ending, for good?  I was watching last weeks episode, business as usual and then BAM I see "on next weeks SERIES finale" and instantly started crying.  WTF?  I had NO IDEA it was ending, whatsoever.  I still haven't watched the finale because that makes it real and I am not ready for it to be over.

***
Speaking of TV.  I started Pretty Little Liars, which I told you yesterday and holy teenage goodness.  I have watched 11 episodes in the past 2.5 days and have no plans of slowing down.  First of all, Aria is adorable.  Love her.  She's gorgeous.  I want to be her when I die and come back as a teenager.  And Mr. Fitz, {whistles} woohoo.  My mom has been telling me for months that I need to jump on this teenie-bopper train but I never listened.  Sorry mom.

***
So our bedroom furniture is in!  Say what?!  We are finally going to have a master bedroom for grown ups to live in!  We still need curtains and some decoration stuff but the furniture alone is going to be a HUGE improvement.  I can't wait to reveal the before and afters.  You will DIE when you see what I'm working with.  It's pathetic, really.  You can guess what we'll be doing all weekend.

So yeah, that's where I'm at today.

SO WHAT! Wednesday

This week I'm saying SO WHAT if...
So What Wednesday

  • I started Pretty Little Liars this week and YES, I am hooked.
  • We left the house for 7 days in a row last week and we've yet to leave the house once this week.
  • I am so over cold weather.  Yes, I know it's only January.  Yes, I know I live in Ohio so it's expected but I still hate it.  White hot hate.
  • I can only walk on the treadmill if I have something to watch.  Pathetic, I know.
  • I truly believe the Glimmersticks eyeliner has changed my {makeup} life.
  • My child thinks it's hilarious when she "toot toots".
  • Jimmy and I had a kid-free-night last Saturday and after dinner we raided Kroger like a bunch of high-school kids, high on marijuana and came home to watch Cougar Town and ate a half of a cheesecake.
  • Kendall has been in PJs for the past 2 days.  I gave her a bath Monday and promptly put her in a fresh pair, at least.
  • I've already been working on Valentine's projects.
  • We have a playroom but rarely play in it.  Most of the time we are in the living room.
  • Every night I have an internal struggle, do I get on the treadmill?  Read a book? Or catch up on the DVR?  aka #firstworldproblems.

Baby Dew #2: 9 Weeks

First of all I want to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who reached out to me via Facebook, Twitter, email, etc with your kind words and well wishes for Baby Dew#2.  I have been so grateful for your prayers and support.

Yesterday I had my first ultrasound with Baby Dew #2 and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little nervous going in.  Nervous because that first ultrasound is so scary, you hope everything is a-OK but know there is always the possibility of getting bad news.  I also wanted to be sure there was just ONE baby in there...OMG the thought of anything else was making me very anxious.

The ultrasound was "perfect" {her words, not mine}.  There is just ONE little Dew Drop in there and he or she was just wiggling around.  I'm measuring right on track, 9 weeks, 3 days.  So looks like I'm just one of the ones that shows very, very quickly.  All in all a very good appointment.  My due date is 8/19, three days after Kendall's birthday.  Since I will opt for a scheduled c-section I will deliver no more than 7 days before or 1 day late.  So approximately the week of August 11, give or take.

We took Kendall with us to the ultrasound and I'm so glad we did.  She did amazing.  She was a little nervous at first when I got on the table but she quieted down as soon as the tech turned off the lights.  As soon as Baby Dew #2 showed up on the screen she said, "that's my baby?!"  And my heart melted.  So sweet.  She got a big sister sucker for being such a great/brave big sister and all in all I think it was the best thing to take her with us.

Speaking of the Big Sister, this week we got a few big sister books from the library and have been reading them, I really think she's finally starting to understand, somewhat.  She has been super sweet and every night when she goes to bed she gives my belly a kiss and says "see you soon baby"!  I've kind of stopped asking if she wants a boy or girl because I know my kid and if it ends up being the opposite she will have a meltdown.  We also started referring to the baby as HER baby {per a blog comment suggestion} and I really think she likes that.

I still feel great.  I tend to think that the belly has slowed its roll and seems to be staying at the same size for now. My starting weight for this pregnancy was the exact same as it was with Kendall, now let's just hope the end weight isn't even remotely close.  I'm still trying to get on the treadmill at least 3 times a week and, well, some weeks are better than others.  I noticed my arms seem to be getting big already {as if they weren't big enough to begin with} and so I've been doing arm workouts almost daily.  Hopefully that helps.

I was tired of being tired so this week I've really been trying to be in bed by 10-10:30 and asleep by 11.  Well, jokes on me because while I've been getting to bed earlier Kendall has been waking up about an hour earlier.  But I still feel a lot better and not nearly as tired when I get up in the morning.  I'm sleeping a lot more comfortably and I don't know if the time I'm going to bed has anything to do with it but I'll take it.

Otherwise this pregnancy is progressing just like my one with Kendall.  Easy, complication free, and overall very positive.  Some people might think that means I'm having another girl but lately I've been feeling like this is a boy.  Lots of other people seem to be on team blue too so we'll see.  We will opt for an elective early ultrasound to determine gender and we'll be able to go sometime around 14 weeks.

Yay for a healthy baby and YAY for only one baby.  Thanks again for all your love and support.

Dressing Your Bump: 1st Trimester

If you are pregnant and struggling with how to dress your bump, this post is for you.

Let's face it, the first trimester of pregnancy is a tricky little lady. She's full of hormones that makes your skin do crazy things.  She makes your boobs swell up to the size of Texas.  If it's your second time in the rodeo you will have a belly as soon as you pee on that stick.  It's awkward.  You don't have a real baby belly, not one that will fit into maternity clothes yet anyway.  So what do you do?

You try to rock what you've got, boobs and all.  This means getting creative with your existing wardrobe.  Scarves are your best friend.  Belts are good.  Layering is essential.  Leggings are awesome.

When I was pregnant with Kendall I could not wait to wear maternity clothes.  I'm pretty sure 8 weeks into the pregnancy I was shopping in the maternity department.  Totally unnecessary but I was excited, so sue me.  This time?  Totally different story.  I am steering clear of the maternity department as much as possible, determined to make due with a lot of my "regular" clothes.  With that being said I have bought two belly bands {white & black} and a few basic tees & tanks {that should hopefully get me through to the very end}.

Outfit #1
Scarf- NY&Co.
Tee- Target
Jeans- Old Navy
Shoes- TOMS
Jeans & tee shirt kinda girl?  Well just go stock up on a few basic tees in a size {or two} bigger than you'd normally wear like I did. I got a few of these tees from Target {$8} and am hoping they'll get me through my whole pregnancy.  These jeans are pre-pregnancy/non-maternity but thanks to a cheap belly band I can rock them for just a little longer.  See that scarf?  It helps to conceal the milk makers because lord knows they are not going anywhere anytime soon.

Outfit #2
Cardigan- Francesca's Collection
Dress- Kohl's
Leggings- Target
Shoes- Target
Have a dress that you love but think that the bump will make it too short?  It probably will!  But?  Have no fear.  Pair that dress with some leggings and it makes a great tunic!  If it were warm enough I'd be wearing this type of outfit daily.  Very comfortable, very forgiving and still stylish.  Have some summer dresses?  Throw it on with a cardigan, leggings and boots and you've got a great fall/winter look.  This is also a great way to hide the bump if you just aren't ready to spill the baby beans yet.

Outfit #3
Scarf- Target
Tee- Target
Cardigan- Target
Jeans- Old Navy
Boots- Target
I love Target, what can I say.  But the key to this look is layering.  Even my doctor said it, "the first trimester is all about layering".  This is basically outfit #1 but way more put together/layered and more suitable for the now frigid temperatures we're having.  I have enough cardigans to start a club so this is my staple look.  You can mix and match the scarves to make a new outfit every time, if you want.

Outfit #4
Sweater/Vest- Old Navy
Tee- Old Navy
Belt- Target
Leggings- Target
Boots- Target
This outfit was always one of my favorites, pre-pregnancy.  It's very comfortable but the mix of brown and black is "edgy" and well, I just like it.  Before I was pregnant I wore it without the belt but I just feel like that looks sloppy now and anything to help create a waist is good.  I'm fairly certain I'll be belting everything this pregnancy.  Accentuate the smallest part, right?  I know come months 8 and 9 this won't really work but in the beginning it totally helps.  The belt trick also helps for those not ready to tell yet too.

So there you have it, tips and tricks for dressing your not quite a baby bump but more like I ate too much dinner bump aka the first trimester bump.  I know there are lots of new belly buddies out there so hopefully this helps during the awkward, "is she pregnant?" phase.  I know I've been scouring Pinterest for all sorts of ideas and that's what helped inspire this post.

SO WHAT! Wednesday

This week I'm saying SO WHAT if...
So What Wednesday

  • I made a play date right in the middle of nap time on Monday. I paid for it dearly that night but she had so much fun so it was worth it, right?
  • I bought my first US Weekly in years last week.  Whoa! A celeb post is in order!  Did you know Ashton & Mila were dating?
  • I was determined to get on the treadmill Monday night but after No Nap Monday I crawled into bed before 10 pm for the first time in months.
  • I was feeling a little "blah"this weekend and the only thing that made me feel better was a trip to Target.
  • I've eaten more fast food than ever this pregnancy.  Maybe that's why I'm feeling so blah.
  • I wish I could be one of those girls that can pull of 2nd {and 3rd, maybe 4th} day hair.  I just can't.
  • I never really cared about Valentine's day until this year.  Now I want to make every craft and baked good I see on Pinterest in honor or heart day.
  • I always want KP to have her "cutest" sippy cup when we go in public.
  • I don't like my hair, at all, when it's straight anymore.
  • Our dogs ran out of food and it was naptime so I fed them crackers.
  • My ultrasound is tomorrow and I'm SO EXCITED!!!

Writer's Block?

In a blog funk?  Let's face it, I think we have all been there.  With The New Year I've noticed a lot of bloggers seem to be saying the same thing, "I just don't know what to write about".  Call it a case of contentment, call it writers block but I miss seeing some of my favorite faces around the Internets.

I've been on Pinterest long enough to see the "how to grow your blog" and "writing topics for when you have nothing to write about" pins.  I admit, I find them extremely helpful when I just can't come up with anything but want to, need to write.

Some of my "popular" {according to my Google stats}, easy to replicate posts have been:0
  • Currently.  Talk about some of your favorite things right at this moment in life.  Share a great new product or book with your readers.
  • Maybe I'm Crazy.  Share some "weird" traits that you may have.  You might find that you just aren't as weird as you think.
  • If... Talk about things you would do IF.  If you could get married all over again, if you were a single girl, if you could meet one celeb, the possibilities are endless here.
  • Then vs. Now.  See how much you've changed over the years.  Or have you?
  • The Real Me.  Lots of bloggers did this one a while back and it's still one of my favorites.  Share some fun facts about the REAL you.  "If you REALLY knew me you'd know...".
  • I'm Blank Because... Fill in the blanks, "I'm a bad friend because", "I'm sad because", "I am excited because".  Again, the possibilities are endless.  {This idea was borrowed from Pinterest}.
  • Being a Mom.  What being a mom looks like to you.  Of course you have to be a mom for this one.
  • I Really Love My...In this post I shared some of my favorite baby items right after Kendall was born.  You could do anything that you really love though.
  • I Love Being Pregnant But... Some things no one tells you about being pregnant.  I was nervous to reread this post, I have to say.
The next time you just "aren't feelin' it" perhaps this list will help.  Feel free to take these topics and make them your own.

Things I Love About Being A Mom

When it comes to being a mom the emotions are more bipolar than Lindsay Lohan. One day you are all rainbows and puppy dogs and the next you are ready to check yourself into Betty Ford.  I've had my share of ups and downs during my 2.5 years.  There have been days that I could cry from joy and pride and there were days that I wondered why I even signed up to do this in the first place.  I can finally say that we are at a point where most days are good.  After a rough start to The Terrible Twos I think we can officially say those days are behind us, for now.  I'm sure we'll have plenty of rough patches but for the most part I'm in the rainbows and puppy dog phase, again.  So much so that I complied a whole list of things that I love about being a mom, right now.  Things I can look back on when I'm climbing the walls, seconds away from cracking open that half drank box of wine in my fridge.
  • I love her squinty eyes first thing in the morning.  So sweet, so innocent.
  • I love hearing her come up with her own version of common sayings.  Example: "Scooby Dooby Doo, where are you, nuffin to do right now".
  • When she thinks that you are hurt or upset she immediately says, "what's wrong?" and quickly gives you a kiss.
  • She calls the grocery store a supermarket, always.
  • Hearing her learn the words to songs is quite possibly the cutest thing, right now.
  • I love that she wants me to blow dry her hair, most nights.  She says, "ooh my hair long like 'Punzel!".
  • She's my little helper when it comes to housework.  Her best chore has to be laundry.  She will take the clothes I give her from the washer and put them in the dryer then from the dryer to the clothes basket.
  • She's doing this thing with her belly, we call it the belly roll.  She says, "you like big belly or skinny belly?" and then she rolls it, big, skinny, big, skinny.
  • She's so independent, it's almost annoying.  Heck, at times it is very inconvenient.  But, I hope this continues into her teen years and she'll be able to stand up for herself and what she believes in.
  • She loves her daddy and every day when he wakes up her favorite thing to do is get him a K-cup, "daddy you want some coffee?".
  • I love when she randomly says "I lub you".
  • I love when she asks for fruit snacks first thing in the morning.  She knows she's not allowed to have them that early so she'll say it really soft and quiet with an "I know you're going to say no" look on her face.
  • No matter when I ask her she always says Smith is her best friend, even though she hasn't seen him since July.
  • I love hearing her use words and phrases in the right context nowadays.
  • If I ask her a question she'll put her finger to her lip and say, "hmm...what do you think?".  Kills me dead.
  • Blankie is still her favorite thing on this planet.  The tag on Blankie is a separate entity and when she talks about it she talks about it separately.
Just as I was afraid The Terrible Twos were going to be the death of me we've taken a turn for the better.  I can honestly say I am thoroughly enjoying this phase that we're in.  Watching her become a little person is such a joy and I am blessed to be able to spend every day in her presence.

No News is No News

So I realized I kinda, sorta left you guys hanging on the doctor's appointment this week.  Sorry, friends.
Well the news is, there is no news.  Not really anyway.  This week was just my consultation.  Our practice does a consultation visit at about 8 weeks and then your first ultrasound around 10.  So this visit was a lot of questions and answers, information, what's new since I had my last baby, etc.

I was really hoping I could convince him to just shuffle me over to the ultrasound room for a sneak peek but no dice.  I explained my concerns, the possibility of being further along, the panic at the thought of having twins and he still said "no".  Well, not really but he informed me that the chances of me being further along are just as likely as the possibility that I'm not as far along.  Basically I'm probably exactly where I think I am, almost 9 weeks.  He said my odds for having twins are 1 in 90 and that did not make me feel any better.  Do those odds seem really high to anyone else?

He told me that things that typically happen around week 20 with the first pregnancy happen around week 9 in the second {and more}.  That did make me feel better.  Before I even addressed some of the aches & pains and other "symptoms" I've been having he assured me that all of those were completely normal to be having this early because it's my second pregnancy too.

He told me I looked great.  Told me to tell the "are you sure it's not twins?" people to shove it.  No really, he did.  He informed me of my options for VBAC or scheduled c-section and based on my labor/delivery with Kendall I will be doing a scheduled c-section again.  His words were "if the straw was too narrow the first time it's probably too narrow now", I can't make this up.

I am weighing in exactly the same as I did at my first appointment with Kendall.  I don't really care so much about that as long as the end number isn't anywhere close to what it was with her.  I told him my plan and he said that the first pregnancy teaches you how to handle subsequent ones and I could not agree more.  Although I've been trying to get in at least 3 workouts a week I know I could do better with my eating habits so I'm really trying to work on that.  Starting now.

All in all I do feel better after my visit.  I wish I had more answers but if there is one thing I am learning with this pregnancy it's patience.  So I will be patient and hopefully have a better update next Friday after my ultrasound.

SO WHAT! Wednesday

This week I'm saying SO WHAT if...
So What Wednesday
  • I cannot WAIT for my Ebates check to deposit, biggest one yet.  We're talking 3 digits people!  Holler!
  • We were like kids in a candy shop seeing a movie this weekend.  Do you know the last time Jimmy & I saw a movie?  Me either.
  • We watched Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives Friday night and I saw them make a peanut butter & jelly french toast {two of my favorite things this pregnancy} and I made it the following morning.
  • We spend our Fridays watching Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives.
  • I use "dew" instead of "do" sometimes.  It's fun!
  • I initially didn't want to find out the gender of Baby Dew#2 but Pinterest makes that damn near impossible!  I mean I need to know what color and name I'm going to order a monogram blanket in.
  • Kendall saying, "you make my crack!" instead of "you crack me up!" is the cutest thing EVER.
  • Our Christmas tree is still up.
  • I {finally}ordered our new bedroom furniture and I am more excited than it than anything in life right now.
  • I can't wait for the weather to warm up.  Although at huge months pregnant this summer I'm sure I'll be singing a different tune.

Advice For 2nd Time Moms

OK ladies...this is where I turn this blog over to you.

Sure I've been around the baby block before.  I know how to change a diaper in my sleep, heat up a bottle {in a microwave}, soothe the gas pains and do it all while holding a glass of wine.  One baby is easy peasy.

What I need from you is all the 2nd time mom stuff.  Do I need a double stroller {really}?  How do I parent from the couch while feeding a newborn if the toddler starts drawing on the wall with permanent marker?  What about going out in public, alone, with two children?  And can someone please explain breast pumps?  Which is the best?  Should I rent one or buy one?  Will I ever have simultaneous naps?  Is it true that your heart just...grows, when the 2nd baby arrives?  Are we ever going to have husband-wife time again?

How bout the toddler?  Will she feel deprived?  Is she going to hate the new baby?  How do I transition her in the best way, for HER.  What things can I do to get her ready and excited?

Yeah, that's what I want to know.  I want the nitty gritty.  The stuff no one tells you about.  The stuff that would make you say "why did I want to have a 2nd baby?!".  The good, the bad, and the ugly.  I want it all. Don't hold back on me now, people.

Please and thank you.

2013: In One Word

smart.
learn.
educate.
aware.
deliberate.
better.
practice.

These are all words I considered as my "theme" for 2013.  I've never picked a theme or word to describe my year before but I've seen a few other bloggers do it and it seemed to make more sense to me than picking one resolution {and, most likely, failing at it}.

I like the idea of a word to describe the year because you can apply it to various aspects of your life.  As oppose to saying "I'm going to lose 20 lbs" or "I want to have $XXX in savings" picking a word for the year could be applied to either or both of those.  See also: I'm indecisive.

So...I thought and thought and when I thought I had settled on a word I thought about how that word just wasn't it.  It wasn't perfect, it didn't apply to everything I already had in mind as far as goals go.

I looked at this list and it finally clicked.  The one thing all of these words had in common.  Think.

This year I will think.

I will think twice before I spend money carelessly.

I will think before I speak to avoid putting my foot in my mouth.

I will think about how my words and action affect Kendall.

I will think about things {like breastfeeding} and be more open to them with Baby Dew #2.

I will think positive thoughts.

I will think about how hard it was to take off the baby weight when I shovel ice cream into my pregnant face.

Just to name a few.

As a couple, Jimmy and I are notorious for jumping into things.  In fact contemplating if and when we wanted to bring Baby Dew #2 was the most consideration we've ever given one decision since we've been together. We are very "if it feels right then do it" kind of people and that's not always a bad thing {hey, it got us married} but sometimes it wouldn't hurt to think about our actions before acting on them.

I am not putting any concrete numbers or goals out there because I feel like once January passes those goals go out the window.  Instead I just want to focus on doing better and being better throughout the year by thinking.  It seems simple enough and I'm hoping that it will be simple.  I know some aspects will be easier than others and I know in my mind which of these I need to work on the most.

I think {hehe} 2013 will be a great year.

SO WHAT! Wednesday

So What Wednesday
This week I'm saying SO WHAT if...

  • I completely forgot about SWW last week and it wasn't until I saw that Jen did it and called me out that I realized it.
  • I'm not ready for Christmas to be over.
  • I love the light that the Christmas tree gives off and I'd keep it up all year long if I could.
  • I still haven't thought of my new year's resolution.  It took me till February to figure it out last year so I've got time.
  • I look more pregnant than I {probably} am.  I remember waiting and waiting and waiting to look pregnant with Kendall so I guess in a way it's nice to actually not just look chubby.
  • I was happy to be sober for NYE this year.  Thumbs up for waking up feeling great, too bad Jimmy can't say the same.
  • I created a monster with Jimmy's Christmas gift.  Home brewing is turning into an obsession, just like I knew it would.
  • Drunk people are really annoying when you are sober.
  • I very rarely {never} update my personal Facebook page.  I should just delete it but I just can't bring myself to do it.
  • I've been a total slacker when it comes to housework lately.
  • I thought taking a break from blogging would leave me with TONS of ideas for posts and...nope...I got nothing.
